Reading Log: Years 7-8

$24.99

Learning to think critically while reading books on our own is one of the hardest skills we try to learn as part of our study of literature. This 30+ page pack is designed to help students in years 7-8 improve their grasp of all those tricky things in English while reading fun novels at home; think plot structure, literary devices, figurative language, paragraph writing… and above all, why authors make the choices that they do. If you can figure this out - and we’ll help you - you’ll grow as both a reader and a writer in leaps and bounds!

With each novel, learners can choose to complete as many questions as they like, choosing questions which may challenge them based upon the actual narrative being read. As such, this reading log is reusable - over, and over, and over again, offering a new learning opportunity every time.

This ginormous reading log includes prompts to help learners think critically about literature, learn to write analytically, and further offers extension opportunities in both analytical and creative responding. Whilst we advertise this pack as being suitable for students in Stage 4, it will further support readers in Stage 5 who may need to strengthen their reading comprehension skills, or could offer exciting challenges to advanced Stage 3 students.
